On Monday 14th June 2021 at 10:00 UTC, we’ll be making a change to External Dynamic Content which may require you to take some action.
As part of an infrastructure change, we’ll be migrating External Dynamic Content to a newer, faster and more robust platform. This will mean the IP address used to fetch external content will change.
How do I know if I’m affected by this change? Generally, our customers use External Dynamic Content is used in 2 ways:
1. Using our EasyEditor external dynamic content block to pull in and populate campaign content using an external URL endpoint. This is often used to send different offers, images, text or ‘calls to action’ to different groups of contacts. 2. Using our Magento 1 or Magento 2 integration functionality to provide basket contents and coupon codes in email campaigns.
In summary, if you’re using External Dynamic Content via any method and you’re securing your External Dynamic Content URLs by IP address, you’re probably going to be impacted by this change.
What changes do I need to make? If you’re securing your External Dynamic Content URLs by IP address, you’ll need to allow the IP addresses listed in this support article. The IP addresses for External Dynamic Content are separated into 3 regions (Europe, North America and Asia Pacific), so you’ll need to allow the IPs specific for your region. If you fail to make these changes, it’ll prevent your External Dynamic Content from working and your email campaigns will fail to send.
What shall I do if I’m unsure? If you’re unsure on whether you’re going to be impacted by this change or how to approach making the necessary changes, you can get in touch for advice via our contact us page or by emailing email@example.com.
